November 4th, 2012 - Vero Beach Three Consecutive Shutouts - The Vero Beach High School Girls Soccer team has posted three consecutive shutouts. In three matches, Goalkeeper, Nikki Illare, has only had to make 6 saves, and all but 1 of those saves would be considered routine. Illare has to give much credit to the work of her teammates who have been able to win 50/50 balls, dispossess the opponent and quickly transition into the attack. The work of her backs and holding midfielders has been outstanding. Center-back, Kaley Fennell, outside backs, Kat McClain and Jen Cairns and holding mid-fielders, Mak Burton and Victoria Dorr have been marking players tightly and in great position to win balls. The wing players, Maria Garabics, Ali and Ashley Ritter are getting up and down the touchline and playing both sides of the ball very well. The defensive players coming in off the bench have shown that they too are up to the task; Ainsley Bradshaw, Erin Keenan and Lauren Jensen have all made an impact with no change in the flow of the game. There will be some very strong competition for the Lady Indians in the next few weeks and the team will certainly have to be at the top of their game.
